When I print a chart are picture into journal, the result is a much lower resolution. Basically if there is small text in the source PDF that is perfectly readable, in journal it can't be read! Does anyone know what I mean and how do you overcome this problem? (I've set the print quality to best when printing)

I've found similar problems with the Journal print driver (some PDF files are OK but others come out in a horrible resolution). The solution I have is to use the Microsoft office document imaging printer. (You'll only have this if you have office installed unfortunately).

You need to set the printing properties to print as a TIF at the maximum resolution (300 dpi). Then it's simply a matter of importing of importing the resulting TIF into Journal.

It's a shame that the otherwise excellent Journal has a poor printer driver -it would be great if MS could port the office team's one instead.

It's still a heck of a lot better than the one in OneNote! ;)

You might try changing the print settings when printing to Journal. There's an option in the properties dialog that lets you specify a (supposedly) higher quality. I don't know if it'll work in all situations, but I've run into at least one instance where it improved what I printed. Let us know if it works...

I'm trying to print PDF's, will the office printer do this? And I already tried the setting in the journal printer dialog no good.
