You might try repairing the Windows XP Tablet PC installation.
Good luck.
I've had my tablet for a week now and have not been able to resolve this problem. I was online with tech support all last night to no avail. When I try to use the TIP keyboard all of the letters are typed in double - aabbccdd ... Backspace even deletes in double! It is driving me insane!
Can anyone shine some light on this problem? And a fix? I'm desperate!

it would be helpful for everyone to know what you tried with tech support.

Donna,
I was able to replicate what your computer is doing - somewhat. Go to the control panel, tablet and pen settings, pen options. Highlight double tap and then settings. Change the speed to fast. Move the slider all the way to the right.
Click OK, then click apply and see if it still does the behavior.
I replicated it by doing the following:
I would press a key with the pen, release the press but hover over the same key for a moment, then press again. WOW, two letters from a single press. This was with the above mentioned setting at a speed about half. When I moved the slider to full speed, I could not replicate the "double tap"
I hope this helps.

Also do the following:
Control Panel, mouse properties,buttons:
Make sure that Clicklock is not checked.
Good luck.
I have already tried setting the pen double click to Fast and that didn't fix it.
I don't think it has to do with tap and hover. I tend to type fast with no hovering. The words still come up -lliikkee tthhiiss.
I've read another topic and I'm now of the opinion that the problem is due to the stylus. For some reason the tablet sees a single click as a double - and a double click as a four click. Thus the single tap on the TIP kayboard is seen as a double tap. I've tried my other stylus but it had the same effect.
Does anyone think a different stylus might help? And if so - which one?

And Click Lock is not checked.

It's probably not your pen as the screen is the clement which recognizes the taps. I have found the double click speed to sole my occurrences.
Hope this helps
