Which screen they have actually sent to you? I mean, how it is marked, and if it i also bright, sharp,...
jack,
if you don't get this screen, i could borrow to you my boe-hydis for experiments/tests, provided you share the result we are both interested in and return it safely. pls pm. you sound very...
this cracked screen does have value. some people need it just without glass to upgrade screen on lenovo x61, for example. i read german thinkpad forums about it. so, don't give it away for cheap.

The problem with Hitachi cables they are 0,2mm too thick for other drives with Zif connectors. You can polish it away, if u can do it carefully. Someone here did it. I haven't tried it myself yet.
motionfan,
Now, when I concluded that the difference between ultraview anywhere and other models is in small differences on the motherboard (eeprom chip), not in the specific cable, I am not sure...
I tried to play with throttling using RMCLOCK (also used for undervolting), exactly for the purpose you have in mind.
I was not monitoring the battery time, but simply the processor temperature...
Maybe this is also wrong. I double checked it.
LE1700 with 1.2GHZ standard screen (Hydis) and 1.5GHz (VA screen) have LA-3291P motherboard.
LE1700 with 1.5GHz UVA screen (Hydis) has LA-3292...
DD, are joining us with the schematic purchase?
In fact, LA-3291P corresponds to MB with Core Solo processor, and
LA-3292P corresponds to Core 2 Duo 1,5Ghz processor.
The only difference I...
well, many things... i have one dead le1700 to repair (the problem is on MB); I also want to investigate a possibility of connecting micro-sata drives and to make hardware under/overclocking for...
I have removed the above quoted part of my post at tabletpcreviews, because it may be a wrong conclusion for, the XGA LE1700 which I have has 1.2GHz core solo, and SXGA+ one is 1.5GHz C2D, and that...
I would share the cost for the scheme with you, if you want to purchase it and share. Please PM.
The battery in blue coating on the second picture should be the bios battery, and the chip above it under green paper sticker should be the bios chip.
What happened to the green battery near the...
If you have "regular screen" please tell us if it is XGA or SXGA+.
In the first case we know that it is hydis (both standard and VA XGA), and update with SXGA+ screen will NOT work on this...
Important update: Read my post #53 here:

I can add my favorite 1.8" PATA SSD with ZIF connector, which I recommend for sub-notebooks and for LE1700 in particular (and I tried few) in terms of the power efficiency and speed per EURO ...
PJ,
can I ask you few specific questions about your UVA screen?
The last chance to squeeze more juice from the old battery is to put it uncharged to the fridge for few weeks. It may help (it did help to me when I bought two old extended LE1700 batteries which...
I am actually surprised that Renice is so slow on LE1700. I was expecting it to be one of the fastest. It seems to be also not so energy effective because the controller is not native p-ata (I am...
We don't know which screen is installed in LE1700 as regular (do you mean the standard SXGA+ one?).
If you have the standard XGA screen (which is hydis), then you will need another cable to...
Steve, fyi: 1.5GHz here is Core 2 Duo Low Voltage.
There are two other versions of LE1700:
1.2GHz Core Solo ultra low voltage, and 1.06GHz Core 2 Duo Ultra low voltage.
Theoretically, the...
Well, I was using both XP and W7 on the same LE1700 booting to one or another for few months, and I could not see differences in battery time, temperature, or fan noise that I would really notice,...
I can't believe it. Most likely, you just got 1700 with single core ultralow voltage processor, which does run cooler, but not 15-20 C cooler than 1.5GHz Core 2 Duo.
I have both XP and W7 on my LE1700. I haven't done real research, but I think there was no essential difference in battery time that I would notice. I use W7 most of the time, even when I have to...
weird, I had recently LE1700 with standard XGA and it was ht12x21-230, and it was a rather dim screen, if I compare it with my view anywhere on LE1700 (Toshiba SXGA+). On the other hand, the specs...
In my opinion, any screen which you find on ebay for $10 and more by searching for HT12X21 will work on LE1600.
The point is that I don't know which number xxx corresponds to tne View Anywhere...
