I successfully installed windows 7 to my LE1700.
From the reading I have done - it seemed that it was best to install the updated pen drivers...

I wanted to give a quick update.
This drive has been installed and (so far) seems to be working fine.
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate using a USB flash drive & now installing the updates.

Thanks for the reply. Do I need to use a USB cdrom drive or can I just load Win7 onto a flash drive to install?

I am interested in getting a SSD and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this model?:

Luckily, the original owner found the HDD cable, Rubber Bumper and stylus so I will have them shortly.

I still need to get a SSD. Will I be able to tell what type of drive...
