All I can say is that there is a plethora of issues around Vista, sleep and stand-by on many different systems. Hopefully, SP1 addresses most of them.

Definitely not right. I'd get it fixed. Shouldn't be too big a deal if you have onsite. I had a Toshiba laptop with a similar problem. I put off getting it fixed until the thing actually fell down...

Just a thought here, since I haven't tried this. Are you sure that you're set up to install to the correct partition? Good luck, and hopefully the pros will jump on here & help out.
