Hi,
I ordered a refurbished M1300 from Techforless for $1299 and I was wondering what exactly I'll be receiving.
Web site description: Motion Computing Tablet PC Pentium M 1.OGHZ - 256MB - 40GB HDD...( http://shop.store.yahoo.com/techforless/c7-m1300-3004372.html )
Invoice description: P3-1G 256M 40G ...
I thought that Pentium III-M, and Pentium M were quite different.
"Centrino" isn't mentioned on either the invoice or web description. Is this the same situation as the one described at http://www.tabletpcbuzz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7896 ? Here alariccole wrote that the units in question were "...M1300s with a slightly faster M1200 motherboard." If this is the case with my unit, what does it mean in terms of performance loss, and when was this configuration used? I was under the impression that all M1300s used the Centrino processor.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I ordered mine and it came through as full Centrino. The invoice read:
Motion Computing Tablet PC
Pentium M 1.0 GHz
So mine DID designate a Pentium M. But nowhere on the site or invoice did mine say Centrino. I think the folks at Techforless may not know the difference between M and III. I have a feeling you will get a full Centrino.

hi Chrisparis,
Can you run some benchmarking software, i.e. sandra sisoft and compare that with the known centrino M1300 specs to see if it is genuine?

There is no way it could be a Pentium III-M, those don't work in the centrino chipsets.

They have never put 1.0Ghz Non-Centrino Pentium IIIs in a Motion Computing before if I'm not mistaken.
The first Motion's out were 866mhz. Then there was a very small batch of Centrino 933mhz.... and now they're all 1.0ghz.
So yeah, if yours is 1.0ghz, it's Centrino.

I'm sorry, let me quickly rephrase that.
866mhz = Non-centrino originals. Found only in M1200.
933mhz = Centrino (small batch). Found in the first M1300s released.
1.0ghz = Centrino. The current production of M1300.

As I remember the 866 and 933 processes are in the M1200. The m1300 Shipped with a 900 mhz processor to start and then a 1ghz processor, I own an M1200 with a 933 mhz processor. I don't think Intel makes a 933 processor for the Centrino chipset.
