View Full Version : As the year 2004 begins, I'm planning on upgradi
As the year 2004 begins, I'm planning on upgrading from my Fujitsu 4110 to a 2nd generation model some time over the next few months. But I have a fairly large personalized Tablet dictionary that has been generated over the past year by adding words, by using the dictionary tool, etc.
1. Is there an easy way to export the Tablet dictionary from the old Tablet to the new one?
2. Assuming I can do so, since I also use the speech recognition extensively, will the dictionary's trained recognitions be transportable as well, or will I need to retrain all of the custom words and phrases?
This is an important concept, in my opinion, for those ready to upgrade, as the personalized Tablet dictionary is key for top accuracy, both in terms of handwriting AND speech recognition.
Thanks.
Joe

JDG,
Question #15 at the Handwriting FAQ at www.abletfactory.com
"What is the location of the User Dictionary and how do I back it up?"
Moving to another Tablet will include a couple of other steps because the file will change. However, just remember the filenames and locations and you can successully xfer the data. Remember these files are located based on User Accounts.
Grammars are affected by the host system, microphone, training etc. I'd set up Test accounts on both systems to determine what variations exist before I migrated my production data.
Good luck, hope this helps.
