Now that the HP, Tatung and Scribbler hunts are over...
Supposed picture of IBM / LG Tablet and Wireless Displays...

What is known: 12.1-inch display, Convertible, 1.4GHz, LG-IBM
production, avail. in mid. Nov. IBM Tablet will have “self-developed
Tablet PC handwriting software” but use Windows XP Tablet PC Edition
too. Also LG Electronics will do their own Tablet PC
branding.

If it is going to be a convertible, then I hope that the keyboard will have the standard (slightly non-standard) IBM keyboard layout complete with the TrackPoint and (odd) positions for Fn and Ctrl keys.

Chris,
Do you think that the TC1100 will be manufactured by LG Electronics or was that LG-IBM.

TC1100 was LG Electronics...and so will be IBM and so will be LGE (obviously) per self-branded Tablet, heh. :) IBM is the big mystery one to me...all other Tablets have bits and pieces of info out in public, just requires some SERIOUS searching. IBM sorta a blank slate outside of DigiTimes hints...for example: heard Slate at start, and then all the “talk” turned Convertible. Prototypes seemed Slated.
IBM has talk of some sort of extra Handwriting Reco and been talk of a (more serious) Linux Tablet in addition, and some minor row with Redmond over something, not sure what. I think IBM wants MS to do Intel’s bidding and make XP more Centrino optimized, but not sure. Tho such could be an enhancement in Lonestar. The only thing I do know is that IBM needed something from Microsoft, could not get it, and went elsewhere or had it done themselves. So happy ending...I guess. Without knowing the issue, or both sides, mere inside baseball. But final story is that everything smoothed out, and the IBM Tablet PC will happen...
A quick rundown of the latest Tablets...
• HP Tablet PC TC1100 - 10.4", 1.0 GHz and Celeron 800 MHz
• Acer TMC115, TMC120 and TMC300 / 250PE (TM250PEXCi) - 1.5+ GHz / 250PE - Pent 4 2.6 GHz
• Fujitsu-Siemens LifeBook T Series T3010 (D) Tablet PC - 1.4 GHz, 12.1"
• Sharp Actius TN10W - 12.1" XGA AGLR TFT LCD, 1.1 GHz MLV
• Electrovaya Scribbler SC-2000/2010 - 12.1", 1.2 GHz ULV, 9 hour battery life
• Tatung TTAB-B12D - 12.1", 1.0 GHz ULV

Thanks Chris. That helps.
I had a TC1000 briefly and was very happy with the build quality, the pointing stick on the keyboard, the keyboard generally despite the tiny function keys. So if the IBM has similar quality, I'm sure it will be a contender.

The TC1100 is actually 12.1" and 1GHz Centrino last I checked.

Eh....
James, 12.1" Screen on the TC1100. I've heard 10.4" EVERYWHERE else. Where did you get this info from? Personally I prefer 10.4".

Obviously, he's adding 1.7" for the glass covering the screen, which he is so persistent about.
It is, according to the PDF brochure, a nice sized 10.4" screen, with the same 768x1024 resolution as the 12.1" screens have.

How do you all find the 10.4" screen? Isn't too small for writing on (a 8.5x11 page wont fit in the display will it?) Have you compared with a 12.1"?
