Folks,
When I fired up my TabletPlanner this morning, it advised me that there's a new update and I went ahead and (tried) to apply it.

During the update, I got some warnings about some tmp files, which when I check, are files actually created by the update itself in the config.msi directory.

After several tries, decided to ignore the warnings and went ahead with the patch.

However, when I fire up TabletPlanner, its still on the old version and tries to download the update again.

Any clues?

Thanks in advance,
Joel

Mine did the download as well. I hate programs that don't give you the option of whether you want to download stuff now or choose to do it later.

I didn't have the same problems. It just downloaded, installed, and worked fine. Not sure what the update was for.

Sorry I couldn't help.

Cheers.

I just allowed the update this morning. After the program finished downloading, the installer ran and then errored. I could not find the files that were downloaded to attempt the patch again. So I restarted TabletPlanner and allowed the update to start again. This time I closed TabletPlanner and Outlook (both of which were running during the first attempt.) This time the patch was installed without any errors.

One thing I notice about the update is any time I pick in the subject line of either a task or appointment the Writing Assistant window pops up. This is quite annoying, especially when I have the text button chosen and am not working with ink (docked with keyboard/mouse active).

Thank you Leland---for 4 months I have had the automatic update come on every time I open the Tablet Planner and then I get error messages on install. I had emailed everyone--FC and the FC part of the software site. No response. Turns out it was something stupid-----I had to close the planner before installing!!! Thanks so much for sharing your experience, now that little four month long frustration is done with.
