On an M1300, is it worth it to get 512? I'll mainly be using it for note-taking, and possibly music-listening and DVD-watching. Dell has one model for $2110 with 256 RAM and a 20 gig hard drive (I don't care about hard drive size though), and another model for $2419 with 512 RAM and a 40 gig hard drive. Would it be worth it to get the better one? I don't want it to get really slow if I take a long page of notes, for example.
Also, is it possible to upgrade the RAM myself? Would that be a lot cheaper?
Thanks!

I'd recommend buying the smaller model if you don't need the HD, then buy 256 MB of RAM direct from Motion for 70-80 bucks and upgrade it yourself. I am pretty sure the RAM is made to be user-upgradeable, and you won't regret having 512.

My company became a Motion reseller and I've had my M1300 for about a month. I'd definitely recommend going with 512Mb RAM. No matter how minimal you think your usage will be, it always seems that a bunch of windows are open and the extra memory will come in handy. Plus, memory is so inexpensive right now that an extra $80 is worth it.
