Hi all,

I've read through all the messages and didn't see this.

Has anyone else experienced problems when selecting (e.g. using the lasso or selection arrow) a handwritten section?

My 3505 takes a long time to complete the lasso connection and also moves the graphic selection very slowly if I want to move it. This happens in journal, and Word. It tends to get even slower the more complicated the sketch may be.

I didn't think I'd be having a memory issue using this system as I am, but that's what seems to be occurring. Is this just my system? Or is this a common problem. I have no other programs open other than the one I am using when this occurs.

Thanks,
Craig

I've got the same problem, but haven't been able to solve it. You're the first person I've heard of besides myself...

Mine works fine with Journal, but crawls with Tablet Planner. I thought it was a Tablet Planner problem.

I have reported the same issues in another posting in the Forums before. I use Tablet Planner daily, but the lasso effect take forever in TP. I have much better results in Journal and Word. I don't think it's a RAM-related issue because I maxed out my system with a Gig of Ram.

Well...I guess I'm glad I'm not alone. I've noticed it to be a bigger problem with TP as well. I find that I lasso without thinking and then it just draaaaaags.

For my system, I've noticed that it seems to be much, much, much more of a problem when I use the portrait modes vs. the landscape.

Again, doesn't solve anything...but ce la vie.

Thanks for your responses!

Ok, so for giggles, because I had this same issue with my Tosh, I fired up tabletplanner on my acer and wrote a whole page of random notes and words. I then selected the lasso, and encircled the whole page. The selection was instantanious (sp).

So, it is likely a mix of cpu speed and memory speed. sorry guys.

I think it's memory, as this problem went away for me altogether when I upped from 256MB to 1GB of memory.

Heard from tech support that this is a driver problem with the Tablet OS when a tablet switchs from landscape to portrait mode and uses the default ink collector that is built into the Ink SDK. Of course we don't see it in Journal since Journal uses it's own stuff--surprise, surprise ;-(.

Interesting... This doesn't quite explain why I don't have the issue on my Acer C110, but I did on the Toshiba. The drivers are the same, the OS is the same... I smell pre-canned excuses.... lol

Well, atleast they gave you a resonable response. I can see how this could be an issue when it's collecting the information in the wrong orientation style.
