Synergy is a nifty program I've found useful for the notebooks I've been using as a dual display sort of setup. Basically it lets you define a side of your screen for the mouse to go into on your desktop computer and come out of on your laptop/tablet.
It also transports keyboard commands and can be locked into a particular display with ScrLk. I'm sort of looking forward to getting my tablet for one so I can try it with Wireless internet and those times when a Slate doesn't meet all your needs and you just want a keyboard/mouse--but you won't have to go through the hassle to plug them in.

The windows version just reached a decent level of usability this release (maybe bugs) and unfortunately there is no port for OS X yet but otherwise very great.
