Long time peruser, new poster. I purchased a TC1100 after a couple months of research. I ended up getting an 800MHz model

My question is whether or not the processor is upgradeable in and of itself or if the mother board has to be swapped out. I forgot to look closely when I changed out the ram and cant tell if it pulls out or not.

thanks guys :)

I've upgraded the ram to 2GB, and ordered THIS (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180528814346&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_991wt_1137)HD for it.

I also have another machine I'm bidding on for parts.

The processor is soldered to the board. It is not upgradable. If you have an 800MHz. model then it is most likely a Celeron processor.
You would have to change out the motherboard to upgrade it.

you did too little research if you got the 800MHz model and are now asking these questions :)

not really. I bid on one on ebay and in the description it said it was 1ghz processor. after it arrives it's an 800. it runs fine for what I intend to use it for and the seller refunded me 40 bucks so I'm keeping it. I just want to know what I can do to inch out a little more processing power.

Nothing that I know of... Sorry.

yup, not much you can do with it. I own one of those 800 MHz models as well, kind of nice, but the 1.2 GHz model gives you much more power and better view (hence I got one of those as well).
