The current video drivers that seem to work (3722), really do not very well. Video is super slow, and you cant have full video acceleration cause of the mouse aritifacts and even so, its still slow for youtube video at 720P. its simply no good.

I currently found a solution that takes us HALF the way with full 3D acceleration, Direct 3D acceleration, but no AGP Texture acceleration. I said half the way, cause the M1400 has two video outputs devices.

How about if I can tell you that you can have such speed, but at only on the internal screen for now? Thats what I meant by HALF.

Ok, here are the instructions. (from a fresh installation of windows 7):

1. Latest drivers (v14.19.50) for XP from Intel's site and extract them to a separate folder.
2. Boot windows 7 in safe mode.
3. open command prompt in admin mode.
4. type: bcdedit /set nointegritychecks ON
5. type: bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
6. Goto Device Manager and find the video device. ( it could say standard vga, or just video device...what ever.. you will see 2 of them. YOU MUST find the one that has in the DETAILS tab Hardware ID: 8086&3582...etc..etc.. This is the primary video. if it says this clearly you are in the right place. Once you know , go immediatly to the other video device and DISABLE IT!
7. Then proceed to install the video drivers. Make sure you point it to the "win2000" folder of the Intel drivers you downloaded. I like to use the "HAVE DISK" option, but if this not available for you, then it still should load the driver.
8. wait for the driver to install, then reboot.
9. After windows starts, you will see the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH. This is a good thing! Windows7 just tried to load the new drivers.. this is what we want it to do..next step is how to fix it.
10. after the dump finishes, goto back into SAFE MODE.
11. Type in the run box or cmd prompt: msconfig
12. goto to the boot tab and check off "OS BOOT INFORMATION"
13. Reboot.

Windows 7 will boot up with 1024*768 FULL ACCELERATION! FULL COLOR and you should see the new INTEL DOCK LOGO "will say: EXTREME GRAPHICS 2"
14. Install the rest of the drivers, you can even install the REGedit for the rotation too.

go ahead test out any video...

let me know the results!

GOOD NEWS.

Today I found drivers version .4656. Apperently they are made for the 855GMA and vista. I have not attempted to
install yet..hence the video driver ID for the M1400 are not the same, however..it seems that the package
was made by Toshiba or Fuji....with some model that had the same chip set.

I'm going to mod the .inf file and add to it the hardware ID's of our M1400...I hope that this will work, I will
do a manual installation of drivers..SO far the files of this package are larger and not same as the ones
before.. If it works..I will recompile the package and place a link and
instructions on how to install them. So far..it seems that the only issue, is we must boot Windows 7 with the OS INFORMATION
checked on.. but thats not an issue for me.

These drivers apperently offer faster frame rates across the board. I will test this to see if its true and it should install
on both video units of the m1400.

I'll keep you posted

I've tried to do as you wrote - but first I ran into a problem, both of my VGA outs has the same HardwareID! Then, when I install them and reboot, reboot again after BSOD, the os boot info option is unchecked, and still, I am getting the error message about the driver file.

Tried both package, many ways, no success. Could you please help me?

I did every step as you described. Still getting it. I've used Administrator Mode and Admin permissions everywhere, and still no luck, can't get it work :S
Guess if I want screen rotation and brightness control, I have to go back on Vista :(

Fonix232,

SOrry got the" BSOD mixed up" you must do this in admin mode.

Once you know , go immediatly to the other video device and DISABLE IT!

if this does not stay as a permanent configuration , then something is wrong with your copy of windows 7.

PS: for the video device, it seems that the devices can manifest itself in different orders. So basicly its a trial and error.. try again but with the other device....

I did every step just like that (I know what you meant about making BSOD in admin mode, I'm not a Win7 noob). But still getting the unrepairable BSOD (only going into safe mode, uninstalling the drivers works).

Also I see that you're running a Mac OS X on your LE1600 - would this be possible for the M1400 too?

I have not tried that operating system on the m1400. It was difficult enough on the LE1600...i dont think it would take it.

ive just been on the motion site and the m1400 and le1600 have the same video drivers just use the vista drive from the le1600 off there website.
ive ran that driver in 7.
just unpack it and fined the video in device manager and show it the driver you unpacked it should fined it.
it worked for me.
