I bought a refurb X41 and am really enjoying it. I want to upgrade the memory. I have not done anything like this before and have some questions.

1. Any recommendations on where to buy the memory? I went to Crucial.com and their upgrade tool recommended that I buy--ooops, I had a link but this forum won't let me post it. Here are the specs:

1GB, 200-pin SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module
CT550382

Module Size: 1GB
Package: 200-pin SODIMM
Feature: DDR2 PC2-5300
Specs: DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 128Meg x 64

Does that look right? Do I buy one module or two?

2. Can I install the memory myself?

3. Do I have to reinstall the OS and my programs?

Thanks!

Crucial.com is a favorite of mine. Not always the least expensive but quality and customer service is excellent.

here is the link: http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=ThinkPad%20X41Tablet%20(All%2 0Types)

Yes, that looks correct.

You can definitely install the memory yourself. It is two screws on the bottom of the tablet. Make sure the tablets if off, unplugged and the battery is removed. Ground yourself to avoid static before handling the memory.

You do not have to reinstall the OS or any programs. When you turn the computer on it will recognize the memory.

Good luck!

Thank you John. So I order just one module, correct?
