Specifically: " Visio 2003 provides a new and intuitive way to annotate diagrams. The integration of digital ink supports natural markup of existing drawings and free-sketch creation with the pen on the Tablet PC. Enhancements to simplify input with the pen and provide support for the higher resolution display environment in the Tablet PC can help bring true mobility to scenarios."

I'll have to check this out. If they've beefed up their UML stuff, and if it allows me to CREATE my UML documentents in Ink and have them recognized, then it might make me switch from my current modeling tool.

I just can't bring myself to pay for beta software.

I agree, Kranky, but Visio is one sweet application. If the cost isn't too much, say, $20-$25 then I'd apply. Visio is pretty expensive on its own.

But my understanding is that, even though you pay for the beta, it times out and won't run any more after a couple months. If it doesn't time out, I agree it would be worth it.

I won't grumble (too loudly) at something to cover postage, handling and media costs.

What is frustrating is *separate* beta package charges that begin to add up over time. Visio is the second 2003 package from MS in the last couple of months with a beta charge.

If this stuff is meant to work together, bundle it together.

Then M$ would lose revenue. Can't have that.
