I am not able to find and configure the X201T on the Lenovo web site and I don't find much discussion about it either. Anyone know why? I'm thinking of changing my name to "LenovoMan" and I'm doing my due diligence. :frusty:

I called Lenovo directly and was told that due to supply problems they have taken the X201T off of their site until they catch up with the current orders.

I was told by our Lenovo Channel Rep this morning that the Core i7 processor is "constrained" and that shipments will be delayed until they get them in. I know I should be used to this by now because the same thing happens whenever an exciting, new tablet comes out but shouldn't the manufacturers be used to this also and plan for it?!!?!

You would think their marketing department could come up with something more encouraging than "This product is no longer available for purchase on Lenovo.com" Come on guys...throw us a bone!!!

That lack of a bone has made me seriously consider the purchase of an HP EliteBook 2740p.

Ditto, I'm only going to wait another month.

Here is the good news/bad news on the Lenovo X201. We shipped our first one today that was ordered on March 3rd. We expect to see a dozen more or so over the next two weeks go out from early orders but after that probably not until July. :-(
Hopefully the Core i7 drought ends sooner than that.

i7 chip is running very hot on the new Mac Pros. Perhaps that has something to do with the delay. I don't want a TPC with a constant fan noise nor an automatic down throttle of speed with heat.

As you may have seen, Lenovo pulled the X201 (and then all tablets) from their website. Earlier this week the Lenovo X201 BTO with an ETA for "more than 4 weeks" appeared along with another, fixed configuration that says "ships in 13 days". Expect that to go away soon and be replaced by "more than 4 weeks".
