1. Get a 4GB USB drive. I uses a cheap PNY USB stick from Walmart.
2. Make sure you have either a USB keyboard or mouse as the Pen doesn't work.
2a. Might want to download the le1600 vista drivers and put them on an SD card.
3. Take your Windows 7 DVD and make an ISO. I used ISO Recorder.

ttp://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm4. Use the Windows 7 USB DVD Tool from Microsoft to copy the Windows 7 ISO to the USB drive. The Tool is self explanatory and will conveniently make the USB stick boot-able.

To do this you need the USB stick plugged into the LE1600 before you turn on the tablet. Once plugged in, turn on the tablet and get into the BIOS. In the boot device order section you will not see the USB drive until you collapse the HDD section. Just move the USB device to boot before the tablets hard drive, save, and reboot.

Notes:
Install the vista driver for the wifi first and let windows7 find and install all the updates itself. Im lacking the sound drivers and another unknown in the device manager but, everything seems to work. W7 even found and installed the Wacom driver.

I used the windows XP sound driver from motion's website.

It appears that once you install the LE1700 dashboard and TPM software on the LE1600 the fingerprint and blue-tooth are installed automatically.

The wifi button only works with blue-tooth.

Sorry I can't post links due to some rules the forum has.

Good to have a simple guide, thanks. The same works for the LE1700 and most other tablets/notebooks.

Windows 7 seems to be running pretty slow over here. All I have installed is OneNote 2010, Microsoft Security Essentials, and Windows Live Sync. Any suggestions?

It may be Windows Security Essentials causing your slow down. On a several of my computers, I found WSE using over 70% of my CPU time. It made the systems almost unusable. I unloaded it and went with another security program and got my CPU usage back.

Check the Task Manager, let the system set with nothing running, and see what is using cpu Be sure to toggle show all users. After 15-20 minutes, you should be at 95-98% idle. If not check what is running. In my case it was WSE.

Well, Security Essentials has typically been pretty low on resources in my experience, but you may be right. THe other issue is that I'm running on just 1 GB of RAM, so there may be a lot of hard drive swapping.
