I'm trying to get some information on the wacom digitizer that is used in the tc1100. I would like to try to use the digitizer out of my non functioning tc as a graphic tablet, but for that I would need a way to create a usb or serial connection for it.

Does anyone have access to the pinouts of the unit. Is it a serial rs232 connection or something else, I'm guessing that it is because at the time these were available it seems wacom was selling serial graphic tablets so it would make sense that the unit that is used in our tc1100 is the guts of those same graphic tablets. I know there are some other details to consider, but knowing or at least having some idea as to what the pins in the zif cable are would greatly help in moving forward.

Hope that all makes sense and thanks for any help.

I have checked the service manuals available on the hp site with no luck.

IIRC, the ribbon cable connection is VERY small and flat, definitely nothing standard or available retail.

Yes, it is a small flat ribbon wire, it has 10 contacts. If I knew what those contacts did I could possibly solder a plug on or connect the wire directly to a serial connection.
