I'm looking for a tablet sub $1000 bucks to use as a digital sketchpad and less often as a word processor. I'll be running corel painter and sketchbook pro. Anyone have/use these on either of these laptops and have an opinion from a artists perspective. I realize from technical perspective the le1700 is faster but goes for 800 bucks used on ebay and the tc1100 is slower but is as cheap as 200 bucks. Anyways just looking for some perspective from the artists. Or if you have a better option let me know.

The most important difference between the two is that SOME models of the LE 1700 (check eBay listings carefully) have SXGA+ (1400×1050) resolution.

If you can find one of those for <$1000 I think you will be in good shape. At least that's where ~6 months of research have let me. All I need how is the money, and I'd replace my M1400 in a heartbeat.
