greetings

with the advent of windows 7, i am on the verge of buying a slate/tablet.

main use is text entry and i would only be using dragon naturally speaking or the pen but i hate external microphones and want a pen feel that is as close to pen on paper as possible (my old newton is splendid for this). i have no need whatsoever for a keyboard (pecking at an onscreen one is fine for fiddly stuff)

so:

main requirements are:
- good inbuilt microphone setup
- hardware able to properly run dragon (at least 1.6 chip as far as i know)
- good pen feel (almost no-one seems to talk about this)
- long term reliability "out of the box" (i am a private buyer and will be using the tablet for a good while so, as they are very expensive ....)
- reasonable screen area (my only complaint with the newton is small screen size making writing difficult as one loses context).

so far, the j3400 motion seemed the best fit although the semi-ruggedness is surplus to my requirements (i'll be using it in my study) but i am spooked by its apparent litany of faults and am distrustful of motion quality in short or medium term, let alone the long term.

so what else might i try?

cheers! peter
