Nice job! Any features that are missing? (buttons, sound, screen rotation)

so far so good. Some of the buttons work, Which is kinda odd. At least the Screen flip works. ctrl-Alt-delete not working. everything else seems to work. Loving Win7 over XP.

Good Work! Could you share your details. Have tried 7600 and all fujitsu drivers and no luck as many others with the screen rotation. How did this go for you. Thanks.

What kind of optical drive did you use to load the OS7 I have a 5030 but it does not seem to recognize different cd/dvd optical drives

I can tell you that, for example, an older HP DVD300 works fine. You might be able to find one on eBay at a reasonable price...

I have about 6 different optical drives and even flash drives and am not able to get operating system to the hard drive. I even formated the drive thru another computer and put all the file from the os cd and still no luck. Not sure what else to do. Never have I had this much problem loading an OS. any more help is appreciated.

Used a LG slimline with usb power. Flash drives also worked. Not sure why you are having problems. Still no screen rotation. Upgrade to 160 gb disk and 1.5 mem. Works well. Have not yet tried 51xx drivers for buttons. Only del-alt-crtl button works. 915 screen rotation biggest let down, but runs as fast as xp with new writing tools. Hope someone has better luck.

fixitman:

Have you tried looking for a Fujitsu Docking Station for your ST5030 on ebay? They have the DVD drive built in and you can get them for < $50 usually. That should solve your problem of it recognizing the optical drive so you can install the OS.

what method did you use to get this working? i've got a 5020D with an 855GME chipset, i've tried the drivermax import from vista, the safe mode hack and the registry hack with no luck, still stuck without rotation - without being able to go in to portrait mode it's useless
