Well, i've started the installation,
and will go back and put the Vista drivers on there.
So far, its running fairly well..
(I didn't put the RTM version on though,
just the RC)..

one thing to note though is that you need to install the XP version offer sound drivers to work properly.

So, have you experienced any problems with Windows on the LS800? How is the speed; faster or slower than XP?

Well, I was able to upgrade my LS800 to 2 gig of RAM, a 128 gig SSD, and Windows 7. Everything is running very well and it is actually a lot faster than XP.

What kind of SSD did you use? The largest I know of is 32GB!

I've upgraded two LS800s to Windows 7 and am experiencing slight inconvenience problems on both. On one, I have screen flickers galore. On the other, doesnt resume from sleep properly. I've upgraded the bios to A15, put the Vista drivers for display, still wont go to sleep and wake up correctly, always get the start window normally choice. Anyone have this problem and gotten it worked out?

yeah I did this and it is working alright. the wifi refuses to work (I have tried everything) so I bought a little wifi usb dongle. still need to upgrade ram and throw in an SSD but so far it is working well. battery life is about the same. oh and I did have trouble getting the sound driver working right but eventually I figured it out (though I cannot remember how at the moment). This is working a lot nicer than XP so make the jump if you have not already. though I must warn you it is a lot of work.
