Thanks in advance for your help,

I have the Acer travelmate c100, and have been trying to download some of the power toys from Microsoft. Several of them install just fine but the pool game and the snipping tool said the service pack 1
needs to be installed first. I have done the windows update and installed everything it said I needed. And still that didn't help. So I went to the Microsoft website and tried to download the service pack for Windows XP. When I tried to install it is said it was not for this version of windows.

So, my question is what am I doing wrong.

Actually, Snipping tool requires that Office XP service pack 1 be installed, not Windows XP. You will need to download and install that for the powertoys to work.
