I've been using the IBM X41t tablet for years now and after using the fingerprint as my only way to start up for so long, I've totally forgotten my password. This hasn't been a problem until now... when trying to make a change to windows, it asked for my password, and the fingerprint reader didn't seem to be an option for this.
Does anyone know of a way to capture/recover/change the actual password that displays as " ******** " after swiping my fingerprint? I'd love to be able to make some changes. Thanks!

Run "cmd" to go to the command prompt and enter:
net user <user name> <new password>
E.g.
> net user Jim mypassword
You need to have admin access to perform this change from the command line. This is an especially handy trick if you want to change a password on an account but you've forgotten the original (going through the Control Panel can require confirmation of the old password).
hope this helps.
and if you can't even login Windows...visit URL below: pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=305

Besides, the Fingerprint software has a feature called "Reveal Password" which lets you to use a finger swipe to show your password.
