Windows 7 Release Candidate build 7100 is running great for me except for screen rotation..
I will report back with any issues as I discover them.

How is the handwriting speed in the TIP? Still laggy?

Is there support for the 82855 video chipset? Initially only the generic VGA drivers would load. My M1400 had a problem and was exchanged and upgraded to a LE1700 so I have no M1400 to test with. With earlier versions of Windows 7 I couldn't get the video driver to "stick" at all.

Given that he's not getting screen rotation, I'm assuming there is still no 82855 support. I'm going to be installing RC1 in a few days once I have a chunk of suitable time, and I'll report on my experiences then.

Answered my own question this weekend when I installed RC1. TIP is still laggy, though in slightly different ways. Recognition seems to have improved, even though I'm back at baseline (didn't bother copying over old data)
Everything else is working pretty well, with the obvious exception of the video driver.
Oh, and the ripple effect when clicking is new, and while it would probably annoy me on a desktop, it's great for the tablet as direct feedback to show a single or double tap.
Overall I'm glad I installed RC1, despite the time it took to reload all software and data.

Windows 7 on the M1400 works really well, however the sleep option appears to be missing: I only have shutdown and hibernate available. Is there a way to enable sleep?

Since Intel does not support the 855 GM there will be no screen brightness adjust either. It's always at 100% brightness.
I have also severe issues with hand writing recognition because sometimes, the written text does not transfer from the TIP to the application. Or it does partially but the last written word does not.

It could help. As with the other thread, make sure there is plenty of room on the hard drive.
