Hi everyone. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to finding a great tablet to work with. I currently own a Wacom Graphite 4, with an iMac. I'm a mac fan, so I'm not really interested in "Slate Pc's", where the PC is BUILT into the lcd tablet.

But anyways... Traditional Animation is a very expensive art-form. (For a student anyway). My best solution, would be a "Paper-like" tablet. I've recently realized, why the Graphite, just doesn't feel natural for me. It doesn't feel anywhere near like paper. Which, to most artists, is what we're comfortable with. Drawing on the Graphite is like drawing on glass. No thank you.

The "Amazon Kindle" has notably, a paper-like feel, and appearance. Electronic paper they call it. Sounds and looks great. I'm just praying to god, that there's a tablet out their quite like a kindle :p

Have you tried to put a clear film cover (like people use to protect thier pda, phone, and Tablet Pc screens) on the Graphire?

Also, you can try to change the nib from the hard plastic to a felt version available from Wacom.

Both these will change your interface fell.

Other than that, the Cintiq is your main other option as it is an accessory to your computer , not a computer itself. As a Mac person, this would be the BEST tablet option as it also allows direct to screen interface with the stylus like a Tablet Pc ... but works with Mac.

There is a ModBook option, but for the money look at Cintiqs new and used of various sizes on EBAY and other locations.

Main down side it Cintiq is not as portable .... just search for CINTIQ in the search option here at the Buzz and you should find tons on the topic.

Thanks,

Thank you, your answer was very helpful. I'll look further into the Cintiq, and the felt tip.

Thanks again, Ryan.
