I haven't seen this mentioned yet, so...

Dell is offering some great deals on refurbished Dell XT's at their outlet store,

www.dell.com/outlet

Refurbished units are computers that have been returned for some real (or imagined) technical fault, that have been repaired. Frequently (but not always), these units are indistinguishable from new product. As of last night (17Jun08) there were about 100 refurbished & "scratch/dent" XT's in various configurations available, with prices in the $1200 to $1400 range. Of course, other Dell models are also available if you are interested, including their XPS models...

Apparently, you can get e-coupons to receive further discounts on these refurbished computers at Twitter,

www.twitter.com/delloutlet

I'm not sure how these work, or how often they are available; perhaps someone who is more knowledgeable about this will chime in...

...Although I would prefer that our forum were a bit more active, one of the better Dell user forums can be found here:

http://www.gottabemobile.com/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=71&SID=dz6z95b3ze77z2359za4b5ba1a3995c9

If you will spend some time reading, you will find many positive comments about refurbished Dell XT's and the Twitter coupons (20% off is not uncommon, but the coupons are only available occasionally...)

Less has been reported about single versus dual core, but the vast majority of XT owners are dual core users

An XT user review is here:

and here:

As for the rest of your questions, an hour or two on the forum should provide many answers...

Good luck.

I have one of these tablets. I have had nothing but fun and NO problems with it. The processor is not a power house but you don't buy a tablet to play Gears of war! :)

Thanks for the links. :)
