Trying to upgrade my LE 1600 to VISTA. All went fine except the wireless.

I am not able to get WiFi/wireless to work. It can not find a device.

I went to the Motion site and downloaded the intel drivers. I opened them and then extracted them but still can not get it to work or be seen by the computer.

Below is the driver from the Motion Site....

Wireless Driver
Released Size Notes
Intel - 10.6.0.46 / 9.1.0.115 01/30/2007
Atheros/Gemtek
Available from Windows Update (Automatic Download)

I would use the Atheros/Gemtek but not sure how to get them as an "automatic download".

I guess I could use some step by step advice as I am not as good as I thought I would be and can go back to XP but thought I would give this a try.

Any help would be great!

I've got an LE1600 at work I stuck Vista on, but nothing else. I'll poke it and see if I find anything useful. I do know that the one I'm using to post right now (XP) does not have the Atheros adapter.

Looks like Vista Enterprise was able to install my wireless card without any input from me. I have the Intel 2200BG adapter. Intel has version 11.1.1.0/9.1.1.15 on their site, but they recommend using the drivers from the OEM.

The driver that Vista found for me seems to be from 2006, while it appears the Motion driver is from early 2007 and the Intel version from late 2007.
