Having installed Windows XP pro onto the use C500 I found on ebay, I also bought a Fujitsu IR Key board, p/n FMWKB4A (also off ebay). The tablet, however does not recognize the keyboard. The device manager shows an IR port installed, and the keyboard looks to be in pretty good condition and has new batteries.
Is there a way to check to see which one is working properly and which one is not?

You'll have to go into the system BIOS and enable the IR keyboard. And make sure you've got fresh batteries in the keyboard.

The batteries were the first thing I tried. I checked the BIOS and infrared (FIR) was already enabled. I changed it to irDA with still no success. I changed the BIOS back to FIR and sat it down beside a Dell Latitude C640. The ir between them connected in less than 5 seconds.
I assume it is the keyboard.

I've got an extra C500 keyboard. $10.
PM if interested.
