Dust under screen-LT C-500

I am brand new to this site. I bought a used LT C-500 tablet and it appears to work well but there is dirt under the screen almost to the middle of the screen that is kind of distracting. The machine itself is fairly dirty. I wonder what people did with this thing???

Is there a way for me to remove the dust without breaking the screen or doing other harm? Am I better to bring it to a laptop repair shop to see if they can do this?

If you're not shy about disassembling the computer, you can remove the screws from the case, and carefully remove the front bezel. You can then carefully lift the screen (the outer screen is the digitizer that responds to the stylus) in a dust-free environment, and with a can of duster or a camera lens brush, clean off any of the dirt flecks and reassemble.
I had a moderate sized piece of dirt right about the center of my screen, that drove me nuts and I'm glad to have it gone.
