I recently bought a used LE 1600 and it appears the cooling fan is not working. I say "appears" because I don't know how hot the computer should feel before the fan starts. I opened the case to check the connection and it was tight, the fan will spin when I move it by hand, so I known it's not frozen.

Can I test the fan somehow to see if it's a fan problem? Can I easily replace it? Can I get the part from Motion Comp?

Help. I'm most worried about using it this summer when ambient temps go up, I also use it in the hard protective case.

lol this is jokes.. anyways i gotta reply to this post. lmao
yo if the fan doesnt work the tablet would auto shut down. and if your tablet is shutting down due to overheating open it up and see if the fan cable is connected to the motherboard. well yea that doesnt void your warranty if you open the thing carefully. you said u bought it new so u got warranty well man i gotta say i hate sending sh*t to warranty they take a hell of a time i could do the job in 10 minutes.

The fan doesn't run all the time. It only comes on when it needs to and is pretty quiet. Keep in mind that any tablet will feel pretty warm when using it. If it gets so hot that it can't be held, that is a problem. Also, as nuclear says, a computer will "auto shut down" or "automatically dimming screen" if it is getting overheated.
