so help me god...i'm just not that smart.
I've been feverishly trying to upgrade the HD in my LT C-500 and it's beating me at every turn. I just want win 2K on it.....I've gone through the process of using boot disks on the floppy drive and it always comes down to the CD ROM not being recognized. I see posts in here of people having upgraded their 500's HD but never a "how too"....how'd you do it? Do I need to upgrade the BIOS? Am I really limited to installing an OS via server?

Short answer should be you'll want to format the HD using a boot floppy while it's in the tablet, then remove it and attach it to a working system (using say an external USB HD case, or a 2.5-3.5" IDE adapter) and copy the Win2000 setup files to the HD (you might want to partition it when you format it in the tablet) then put the HD back in the tablet and run the install after booting from a floppy.

Hi,
I already unplugged my old 15 GB harddisk from it and
installed a 60 GB harddisk .
It works.
But :
if you have a working installation,
could you please post a working harddisk image file
somewhere ?
Please have a look at:

Many thanks.

in your link it says you're tying for Linux?
Here's a good source for Linux: http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
and here's how to get it onto your C-500: http://www.neurath.org/stylistic_lt_c500/
(at least I'm assuming you can get Ubuntu to work the same way...Linux is Linux....)
I'm going to try both suSE and Ubuntu...see if one works better than the other.
