On my new 5112, I need to press the power button really hard and towards the top in order for it to work. At first I could not get it to work, but now I notice if I press it towards the top of the button near the outer edge of the computer it seems to work. Is this normal to have to press hard and near the edge?

Thanks,

Mike

I think the power button is bad. Sometimes it works when I press it hard, other times it does not. There is a power buttin on the wireless keyboard that came with it and that is a simple press.

Is the power button easy to replace? I have the on site support. If it is a big deal to replace, I might just bite the bullet and return it and wait for a new one and then have to reinstall eveything.

thanks,

Mike

Definitely not right. I'd get it fixed. Shouldn't be too big a deal if you have onsite. I had a Toshiba laptop with a similar problem. I put off getting it fixed until the thing actually fell down inside the computer. Then they wouldn't honor their warranty, citing "user abuse." So do it now, when it's brand new. Don't wait.

Good luck!

thanks.

Even when the machine is off, it does not want to come one with a press of the power button; however, if I press the button on the wireless keyboard it come right on. Makes me and tech support think it is a defective button or MB. I am going to send it back and order a new one.

Tech also thinks this has something to do with the bridge battery I noted in another post.

thanks

got the new one today and the power button works, so the other was definately defective.
