After playing around with some Accessibility High Contrast options (I don't know why, itcy fingers I guess), my Windows XP taskbar is now stuck covering 25% of the bottom half of my screen. Changing the lock the taskbar setting in Taskbar Settings does not help, nor does altering the many other settings there.

All the system tray icons are also now arranged vertically. Does anyone know what I can do to regain my desktop space and return the taskbar to normal size? Thanks

The taskbar is pretty much like any other window with regard to sizing. Simply place the mouse arrow over the upper edge of the taskbar and when you get the double-headed (re-size) arrow, drag the taskbar edge up or down until it is the width you want. Make sure you have the taskbar unlocked before you try this.

Kupe, Thanks for the reply, but the problem corrected itself minutes after I posted the first message. I'm not sure what the problem was, but I still don't have any application icons showing in the Taskbar.

Cheers, Chris
