LE 1600 and SDHC?

Might be simply out of luck, but can anyone think of a way to read SDHC cards in the SD slot on the LE 1600?

Daniel: I know that you'd probably like to use the built-in card slot, but is an SD-to-USB adapter out of the question?

That would be the simplest approach by far...

It's mostly for pulling files from other people's cameras, so it was more of a convenience thing than anything else. Sounds like I'll continue to just grab a cable from my bag or pick up a USB reader for SDHC. Now that I think of it, I will probably have to get a new (small) reader anyway since I doubt ANY of my current readers (built in, external, and on all machines) has the ability.

Yeah Steve, I think simple will be the way to go!

I had these drivers for win xp that allow you to read SDHC cards. Misplaced them. If you look on the net you can find drivers that allow u to read SDHC cards. Too bad the SD card slot wont work anymore on Vista =(

Ah sweet! If you found them once, then they are out there somewhere.
I'll start digging and report back with anything I find that works.

I'm starting to get the feeling I'm looking for the right thing in the wrong places, or the wrong thing in the right places.

Either way, I'm coming up empty handed. No luck finding a driver to get the LE1600 SD slot to read SDHC cards yet.

Bingo! That's it. After the hotfix, I popped in a 16GB SDHC card and had no problems.

SDHC confirmed working on Vista SP1 32bit on my LE1600. Tried 16GB and 8GB SDHC cards. Working in the internal LE1600 SD slot. It was not working earlier without SP1.
