I thought I'd post this here since I'm sure a lot of former TC1100 users are still floating around. I'm interested in anyone's old TC1100/1000 accessories. I'd really like to track down a Leather portfolio case, Eraser Pen(TC1100), Batteries/External Chargers or anything else you might have. If you have any laying around collecting dust let me know, I'm a college student trying to get a little more use out of a second hand TC1100. Thanks!

check ebay- I just got the original leather portfolio case for $38. I can't seem to find the original DVD drive though.

Here is fabulous price in IT professional version of HP TC1100 dual battery charger with 5 segment led fuel gauges and auto-conditioning panel for just $19.95 (1/10th retail) from super seller shipped factory sealed in five days:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/shops/index.html?ie=UTF8&sellerID=A242PMI316GEVX

ONLY gotcha is that this is for base unit, TWO adaptor bases also required, PK403A for TC1100. PC Connection.com just had them for $19.95 each, but not listing now. So industrial-grade charger complete runs $60 plus shipping. Google search PK403A easily finds $40 offerings and deeper may find lower matches for $20 each.

Here is another source listing the DT533A and PK403A as outfit for $70, but currently out-of-stock:

http://www.getpartsonline.com/dt533a-pk403a-kit.html

Both units will include the TC1100 AC brick, which oftens sells for $20 alone.

The SINGLE TC1100 battery charger (looks like toaster) lacks the guages, but does same function. It rarely shows up in eBay TC1100 searches, when always significantly priced far higher than searching by model DF933A:

http://search.ebay.com/DF933A

As low as $4.99! Again, includes 1100 AC brick.

Seems original Compaq version accepted 1100 batteries directly (mine does), but HP later models require adaptor plate. Check what is supplied.

Here's exceptionally low-cost neoprene zipper sleeve case that fits 1100 perfectly, either with keyboard fitted or just slate alone. Thick padded, rubbery edges hide zipper, utterly plain simple exterior. For $4 it's a bargain!

http://search.express.ebay.com/merchant/nsioutlet_W0QQ_dl2ZComputerQ2dAccessoriesQQ_tosZ1

Link seems to die quickly, if need be search "nsioutlet" merchant store at eBay Express, for their 10.6" cases.

Buying two gives protection sleeve for detached keyboard. Very fast shipper. Heavy chemical odor opened quickly fades aired out. They have extensive line of larger sizes to check out being SO cheap. I prefer minimal bulk sleeve that slips into truly rugged transport as needed.

Roger: Having looked for this case myself in the past, I can tell you that they are hard to find and growing increasingly more scarce.

However, that doesn't mean that you can't get lucky...

Good luck!

PS: I use this ZioTek padded case / sleeve:

It works very nicely for me...!

Thanks. Yes, I have noticed what you said. I saw only 1 on ebay a while ago, but it was all beat up. All other retailers are 'Not in stock....discontinued'. Sooner or later 1 may pop up somewhere....hopefully. For now, I am using my regular laptop bag. It's when it's being used onsite, (estimating building repairs for insurance), is the time when I'm paranoid of damage.

Quick question(s). I found there is a DK503A as well as a DK504A. And sometimes the DK504A is referred to as a 'Healthcare Case'.....Can some one clarify to me what each case actually is and which application is suited for the different cases????

Here is link to DK503A data description:

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11896_na/11896_na.HTML

Here is link to DK504A specs:

http://h18002.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/archives_Division/11901_div_v1/11901_div.HTML

The 503 sealed-screen, heavy-duty protection suited for industrial environments while 504 LCD open-faced, intended for bumpers and grip features. The 504 probably less intrusive design for non-harsh conditions. 503 ideal outdoor protection.

Here is sensational eBay Buy-it-now offering currently for the 503 case brand new for just $85 shipped, 12 left after I just bought mine:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370024676091&ssPageName=MERCOSI_VI_ROSI_PR4_PCN_BIX&refitem=180216163939&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&refwidgettype=osi_widget&_trksid=p284.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DSI%26its%3DI%252BIA%26itu%3DCR%25 2BIA%252BUCI%26otn%3D4%26ps%3D42

Here is an article about Inclosia, a DOW subsidy that makes the cases:

http://www.pddnet.com/scripts/ShowPR.asp?PUBCODE=045&ACCT=0014864&ISSUE=0409&RELTYPE=PR&PRODCODE=31810&PRODLETT=A&CommonCount=0

Both models need careful assembly/disassembly in-use based on the mangled used offerings found on eBay. Neither look tolerant of their fittings and latches treated carelessly.

A 503 missing all it's ports seal flaps is seriously incomplete and worth a fraction of eBay bids given. The PCMCIA slot is a gaping hole for dusty environments that only as fully sealed shell design provides any benefit. The 503 new for $75 right now far lower than used offering command.

504's simply never come up for auctions for some reason, although must have been common clinical items. Here's some 504 new for $125:

http://www.tamayatech.com/parts.php?g=DK504A

Anyone adding historical perspective towards these two accessories new 1100 second-generation owners will appreciate. An 1100 for $300-500 base cost adding $85 now ruggedized for pretty harsh field uses has enormous appeal once realizing how low risk/cost vs benefits are. Slates ruggedized to survive grease, dust, even tolerate rain splashes start at 10X typically.

I received my TC1100's 503 ruggedized case today, brand new in box as advertised. It's an impressive execution of design and quality materials, and makes for incredible field use tablet harse-environment protection. It adds some bulk and weight providing such, but tablet functionality via stylus remains just as good.

As an update, I've been using my TC1100 in the DK503A ruggedized case for hours long sessions and find it doesn't adversely degrade usability at all. Sealed-up with all ports closed, operating temps raise around 10 degrees F (from 130's to 140's) but the housing isolates and still feels cool. It also provides nice feel from rubber grip and the larger overall size actually helps field-use handling. The plastic LCD cover is textured so glare reduced and stylus feel remains quite good. Batteries swap out easily and fast. Sealing case slides together and locks by two coin slots. Access ports cover all sides. Overall, very usable combination for all the protection offered.

I'm going to try adding thin vent foam to the air intake port on case bottom for fine dust filtering conditions, if temps running allow. The exhaust ports positive pressure shouldn't need filtering, but the bottom intake port could, especially when case set down onto dust covered surfaces.

But, I'm talking about situations of use in industrial environments where previously tablet couldn't survive bare. Other than protecting from direct wettings, within case with all port seals closed, an 1100 can and runs well besides. Only downside is added bulk and weight (1.5 lbs).

I've been keeping an eye out for the two-bay battery charger for a decent price on eBay. It's not a necessity for me, but at the same time would be nice.

Anyway, I saw a promising ad, but the ad mentions including the "PB993A 366586-001 and PB99-4A/2A/1A 366584-001" adapters, but also explicitly mentions tc1100 compatibility.

From reading this thread, I figure that he just means it's tc1100-compatible with the proper adapters, and that the only adapters that would work are the mentioned PK403A ones (which I'd need two of).

Just wanted to confirm with anyone who might know, is that definitely the case, or by some chance would it work with the listed adapters?

TabletRon

I tried for you and sent them an email specifically stating the TC1100 and they said it would work with the TC1100 but to be sure I should check on my own. I think that means, They don't know for sure.
This is the booklet on the charger and you are right with the type of adapter needed.

I have the two-bay charger, and it came with two different adapters, one for the TC1100 (DC907A/DD880A, Assy. PN:366859-001 SPS PN: 366875-001) and another one that I have no idea about: DG105A/DC889A, Assy. PN: 366587-001 SPS PN: 366873-001.

Are you looking for the TC1100 adapter, or for another adapter?

Yeah, I actually just ended up buying the adapters off GetPartsOnline, thanks though.

... Though I made the mistake of buying two, thinking I needed one for each bay... and then received four. I was a little concerned about that happening, and emailed them about it before ordering, but never got a response, so just bought two anyway. I had a feeling that the PK403 'kit' contained two adapters, but on the site they made it sound like it was only one.

Oh well, I guess maybe I'll have to put the spare two on eBay myself at some point.

If I come across a good deal on the double charger I might be interested in a set of adapters.

Send me a PM telling me what you would want for them.

Sorry, I feel like a huge idiot, but it turns out ronin was right all along, and it's two of the non-tc1100 adapters and two of the tc1100 adapters. Apparently you do need two of the kit.

Is there a PB number on the bottom of the adapter for the TC1100 battery?
Could you take a picture of the label and post it?

I've had a TC1100 for several years and am very pleased with it. I bought a DT533A two-bay charging station my 311957-001 adapter doesn't fit in the two-bay charger so I can't use it. The batteries are so old now that they probably wouldn't re-condition anyway.
I have all the original documentation and CDROMs. If anyone needs a copy of any of the CDROMs I'll be glad to burn you a copy if you send a blank CD and return envelope.

The adapter needed for the DT533A is the PK403A kit. It comes with two different adapters. One will fit the TC1100 and TC1000 batteries. It is number 366875-001. This is the adapter that I am looking for. I need two of them but just don't really want to spend $52.00 shipped for two of them. That adapter that you have is for one of the toaster style chargers. I have one of those toaster style ones but there are two differnt ones and the one I have does not use that adapter either. I have one of those 311957-001 adapters also.

wolong
03-24-2010, 05:36 PM
I'm as confused as ever. I bought a two-bay DT533A charger and got no adapters with it. I then bought a second DT533A charger and got two adapters with it. My TC1100 batteries don't fiit in either of those two adapters. (TabletRon says this should work. My batteries are labeled 6911BZ0034A
302119-00. Does my TC1100 use non-standard batteries?????) My TC1100 was purchased with a spare battery that included an adapter labelled "P/N 31118Z9320A 321719-001 8Z0422" that my batteries fit into, but which doesn't fit into the charger. So, I'm stuck with two chargers and three adapters that I'm unable to use. If I can't find a way to fit a battery in a charger I'd like to sell all this stuff, and I'll sell it CHEAP! wolong,
The adapters that come with a boxed battery are for the toaster style battery charger like this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370286562056&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

The DT533A charger takes a different adapter Like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-Battery-Charging-Adapter-Kit-PK403A_W0QQitemZ120545739354QQihZ002QQcategoryZ162 QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286.m7QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3 DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26 clkid%3D8728888850830490208

or this one http://www.getpartsonline.com/pk403a.html

This kit for the DT533a charger has two different adapters in it. The one that you need for the TC1100 / TC1000 battery is the one pictured on the top. It is number 366875-001 But I don't think it is sold buy itself. You would need two of these kits to charge two TC1100 batteries at the same time in the DT533A charger. Here is the QuickSpecs page for the DT533A Charger and the adapters are listed at the bottom of page two. http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/Division_04-2006/12257_div.PDF The TC1100 / TC1000 batteries are number DC907A.

I hope this helps. HP has so many different part numbers for the same parts it is very confusing.

What did the numbers match-up with?

TabletRon
04-07-2010, 11:45 PM
Yes I do need both. According to this sheet on the charger, The adapters for the DC907A battery (TC1000 & TC1100) is part number 366875-001. On page two of this document. http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/Division_04-2006/12257_div.PDF
I asked the guy to check and he said that number was on the adapter. I will have to wait and see for sure after I get them.

Anytime I see them on eBay even with other things like this time I seen this guy had the charger and two adapters together. I asked him if he happened to have any more adapters and it ended up that he had two more. He did and I asked him how much and he set up a buy it now for me. I already asked if he had anymore and he said that he did not. I lucked out. But I have also asked about six or seven people about them and this was the first time I found some.

I have a 323262-001 charger, like here - hxxp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200445162234

I have that same charger. When you put the battery in it will blink green and red until the battery is charged and then it will be solid green. The manual provided is pretty slim and not very informative. You should be able to download it as PDF searching HP support pages.

It will offer discharge/calibration blue light every insertion, then start charging until green top small progress bar lights. Red light indicates bad battery. Supposedly; it can be quite variable with same battery at different insertions.

I have two of the Dt533A chargers and a manual. As soon as you plug in the charger with no battery in it all of the lights light up for about 10 - 15 seconds and then just the green plug shaped light stays lit until you install a battery.
