Hi there. I have a couple 3400s that I'm trying to upgrade to XP (regular, not tablet) from win98. I'm able to install windows just fine, except I've been unable to get the pen/stylus to work. I don't need handwriting recognition or anything fancy - just for it to work as a mouse.

I've downloaded the 3400 and 3500 drivers from the Fujitsu site for win98, NT and 2000. None appear to work (or I'm doing it wrong). I'm not seeing anything in the "device manager" that indicates windows even sees the "hardware."

I'd REALLY appreciate some handholding here. My wife's on my big time to get these 3400s up and running (and out of the office/off the desk).

Thanks,
Shawn

I have a Stylistic LT C-500 that's running XP Home well. The pen works well as a mouse, though the pen calibration utility doesn't work, so I'm stuck with the pen being off by about 2 mm. If you still need help with it, I can send you the driver I have and tell you how to install it.

This doesn't work perfectly with XP, but it does work okay as a mouse. One thing to note is that the Fujitsu Display Monitor doesn't function and it will give you an error message when you log into Windows.

OK. Got the file(s). Thanks. Are there any special instructions for installing it, or should I just follow the word doc in the zip?

OK, I went ahead with the install and didn't get very far:

at this step.....
Step A: (Installation Preparation):
Execute the PenPrep.Exe program. This program backs-up the original driver files and then copies new updated files to the default installation folder (C:\FPC\Install\PenDrv).

.... it gives an error "error crading driver backup directory" - likely because I don't have any drivers to backup!

But it then doesn't do the next step, to "copies new updated files to the default installation folder (C:\FPC\Install\PenDrv). "

Any suggestions on how to manually do this?

Well, I appear to have (mostly) figured it out. Went into Device manager, right clicked on one of the "?" icons, hit update driver. Pointed windows to the location of the files you gave me, and poof! It installed, and now works. No pen monitor utility, but a "pen calibration" util now shows up in Control Panel and the Fujitsu 2400 Pen now shows up under Hardware in Mouse under CP.

Thanks!

Then you've got it just as good as I do! The Pen Calibration utility never seems to work, but that hasn't been much of an issue for me yet. And as for the PenPrep program, I guess part of the reason for that not working is that there is no original directory to backup and modify.
