View Full Version : Smallest Tablet under $1500?
I'm not new to tablets, but a lot of new ones have come out lately and I've lost track of what's available.
My favorite tablet so far has been the Compaq TC1000, but it is just too slow to keep up. I am currently carrying a GW M275 - its fast enough, but not very portable. I just broke the glass on my M275, so unless I find a way to fix it VERY cheap, I may be shopping again.
I would love a slate again, but most of them are too pricey. The new Gateway convertables seem to be a lot more portable that the old M275. Any other more portable options? Performance is nice, but not as important as portability.

Well, the SMALLEST would have to be the Fujitsu U810/1010. It's about 5 1/2 inches, and I think about a pound and a half! It goes for about $1000.
If you want a nice convertible, with a passive screen that I find just fine for notetaking, but others find not so good, there's the HP TX1000, which I got with 2 gig ram, DVD write drive for about $1300.
The Fujitsu P1610 is a mini tablet, about 9 inches, I think, also passive screen, which I know some people use for notes, etc.
If you really want an active digitizer or a slate, why not look into used? My spouse got a great deal on a Motion LE1600 used. It's in great condition, came with docking station, the works, for about 1/3 what all of it would have cost new.
Hope that helps.
