I have a vista loaded M4 with 2gig RAM and 2ghz PentM and whenever I go to the flash cards(hotkey things on top of screen) or use the configfree "Wireless radar" it is EXTREMELY laggy. Anyone else with this problem?

This new Toshiba Flash Cards tool is the worst piece of Toshiba software I ever installed. It uses more than 30MB RAM and if that wouldn't be enough it's slow.
All I want from this tool is to work in the background and switch my sound on or off, enable the vga output, go to hibernate and so on. I don't want it to look pretty or steal my RAM.
Is it somehow possible to use the old hotkey tool? Or is there some alternative software which can handle the Fn keys?

Why the hell is Toshiba producing such crappy software?

Since I'm somehow not able to create a new topic, I'll post this here:

I'm wondering if anyone has already created an ACPI Control System class for NHC? Or does somebody know if it's possible to use such a class from another Toshiba notebook model?

BTW: Why are companies like Toshiba not creating such plug-ins for NHC instead of writing their own crappy software like the Toshiba Power Saver which is quite useless (at least the Vista version)?

Make sure you update to the latest version. I had it crashing on startup every other boot, and I saw a noticable improvement in reliability at least, after I noticed there was a newer version for download.

I hasn't made it super speedy (especially as Vista seem to swap it out as it is rarely used), but it did help a bit. In my experience, once I use it and Windows swaps it process in from disk, it spees up noticeably.

I actually think it's a useful concept, if only it wasn't such a dog...

What is the latest? I have 1.00.22(flash cards) 7.00.27(configfree).

I used another toshiba (sat. P205 with intel GMA) and it did not lag at all.

They are both newer than what I have on my M400, so where did you get yours from? :-)

From the toshiba support, I clicked all downloads and set it to windows vista and you will see the version numbers.

I found out why its laggy: the resolution. If I set it to 800x600 there is no lag at all, but as soon as it's at native res (1400x1050)
