i'm looking for a replacement pen for my tc1100.
since the hp pens are currently out of stock, could anyone with access to both resources please check if the l-series pen (http://www.motioncomputing.com/choose/spec_pen_L.htm) works with the tc1100, fits into and stays in the tc1100 pen slot?
(from the specs this may work, although it will stick out about 15mm or so)

suggestions for other compatible pens (main criteria are pen holder compatibility and eraser function) are welcome.

thanks

d: Well, yes, it does... but in the "click down" position, the top of the Motion (LE1600) pen protrudes out of the TC1100 by 3/4 of an inch. And it isn't retained; the pen will click down, but it still freely slides out of the garage!

Electrically, the pen works fine with the TC1100, so if it's just a question of having a serviceable pen, I can recommend the LE1600 pen most highly (I actually like it a bit better than the HP pen).

For what it's worth, I usually leave the HP pen in the garage (as a back-up) and use one of my other pens (Cross, 2nd HP, Motion, Fujitsu...). So far, I haven't lost one yet!

I still see pens advertised on eBay from time to time; you might consider getting a Motion pen for now and simply wait until another HP pen comes up for auction. (And, while you're at it, try the Wacom felt nibs; I don't think you'll be sorry!)

Good luck!
