Can anyone recommend which version of Vista to use on LS800?

The upgrade advisor recommends Business edition, but looking at specs it seems Home premium edition may be adequate. Any advice would be appreciated

Either edition will work. The decision should be based on which Vista features you want to run from your tablet.

John: For what it's worth, I suspect that I went through the same sort of quandry when I decided to update earlier this year. After looking at the features, I selected Vista Home Premium for the simple reason that its basic feature set looked like it would satisfy my needs. Of course, there were some Business edition and Ultimate edition features that looked like they would be nice to have, but it also meant another $90 to $150 extra in price. I decided that I could always add them later, if I wished, by upgrading.

So I bought and installed Home Premium, and I'm perfectly satisfied with it (at the moment).

I recommend that you go with your instincts on this. In the event that you're not happy, you can always use MS's upgrade program to advance to Business or Ultimate...

Good luck

Thanks for that, think I'll try the Home Premium as a starter.

Hi john 4 tablet,

Take a look at these Vista Footnotes for some interesting distinctions between the different editions of Vista.

If you need the entertainment features then you want Home Premium. But if you want some of the business features like

Domain Join, Group Policy support, Windows Fax and Scan, Encrypting File System (EFS), Shadow Copy, Corporate Roaming, Offline Files and Folders, and Remote Desktop are available in Windows Vista Business and Windows Vista Ultimate

then you might want to take a closer look at Vista Business.

My thoughts in choosing:
It is incredibly unlikely that I would watch a movie on my Tablet PCs, but Offline Files and Folders is a necessity for me.
