My M400 after 6 months of use is acting strange

My M400 after 6 months of use is acting strange at times and I have decided to reinstall XP
I have backups of complete HDD and backups of data, apps, and email with Acronis 10.
I have made the Recovery DVD's and have looked for info on using them but not found anything that helps.

What is the collective wisdom on how to proceed?

Keep your backup files on an external or network disk.

Boot off of the recovery DVD

Choose to restore from the latest file (if using incremental) or the one backup file that matches the status you wish to restore (dependencies of older backup should be automatically handled).

When selecting a target, you choose the whole hard drive.

Then you start the restore. It will rewrite the partition table et al and leave you with a fresh system.

I have done this several times with my M4 without problems.

Also, if you want to skip swapping DVD's, boot from the recovery partition (unless you blew it away already). Just hold down '0' (zero) when you power it on.

It's quicker than the DVD's and gives you the same end result.
