Hi all,

New to the forum and tablets... I just aquired a (dead) toshiba protege m200 from work. It appears to have a bios problem. I can only boot in safe mode. When i enter the bios, words are garbled and 0's are everywhere. I attempted to update bios in windows (in safe mode) and recieved missing toshiba modules error. The current bios is 1.3. I do not have access to cd/fdd drive at this time. Can i update the bios from a sd card? I looked at stickies and found info on booting with sd to get to windows but nothing on the bios. If anyone can be of any help. it would be greatly appreciated. I have read that with 1.3v bios i can boot with sd. Bios is so garbled, i can harleyu tell what it says. If anyone can email me a screen shot or 2 of bios that would be great. I hope i can resurect this machine.

We had one that showed that in the BIOS and they replaced the MOBO, thats usually a $500.00 job at a Toshiba Auth Service Center You can get a refurb at geeks.com for $500:

You can try the POM files listed in the Dothan thread, it my the able to reset your Bios, but I honestly think its a MOBO ROM issue
