I have had success with Ubuntu 7.04 ..... In fact I am currently dual booting with Windows and Ubuntu. I have the screen rotation working, but not automatically yet....

Are you booting from SD card, USB, and or PCMCIA Flash, because that's what I would like to do?

The liveCD was tested from a USB - DVD Burner.... I am dual booting from the internal hard drive currently.

Well.....I burned a knoppix cd and then put in the external drive and booted to it.......seriously, not much to it.
But look in the FAQ thread there is info about which external drives are bootable.
I had success with a Knoppix 5.2 version.
Allthough I do not own a bootable DVD-ROM I managed to book Knoppix on the M200 by 'just' first booting a desktop PC with Knoppix Live DVD and then run the network-server of Knoppix and then let the M200 boot from network (through my router, a crosscable connection did fail). It worked brilliant for my purposes.

This is for all the Swagger Jackers!!!
I kind of got DSL (Damn Small Linux) to run on my M200. My goal is to get Knoppix STD and or BackTrack to run. I took a Windows 98 floppy boot disk and added usbaspi.sys, di1000dd.sys, and LINLD.com. Created a floppy image from that, renamed it $TOSFD00.VFD and saved it on a SD card.
My autoexec.bat file contains:
linld image=d:\isolinux\linux initrd=d:\isolinux\minirt.gz
"cl=ramdisk_size=100000 lang=us frugal noprompt noeject vga=791"
My config.sys file contains:
dos=high,noumb,noauto
device=himem.sys
device=usbaspi.sys
device=di1000dd.sys
