So I'm trying to convert my XVID files to the MP4 format for my iPod. I acquired 2 different pieces of software to achieve this.

Using both programs, after converting is completed, I open the video with quicktime and all I see is green and artifacts and I get the sound fine. Remember, this happens exactly the same with both programs.

Nothing else was running at the time.

I'm using Vista.

I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the ongoing lack of good video drivers for the m200 or if it might be something else?

No, video conversion has nothing to do with the video drivers.

Either the input files are only partially recognized by the software (suggesting that you need a codec), or the iPod doesn't recognize the output files (suggesting that you need to try another output format).

Well I guess it is possible that the program doesn't recognize the file type (which is XVID which is supposed to be supported by both programs).

And I was playing back the files on my tablet first before uploading them to the iPod and the program was set to convert to iPod format.
