View Full Version : Is there a Fan control program I can use to forc
Is there a Fan control program I can use to force the fan ON all the time on my m200. Since running Vista it is getting too hot and freezing up periodically. I downloaded a really old Toshiba file (fan.exe) but it doesn't work.
Thanks

It is unusual that the onboard sensors aren't picking it up and spinning the fan up for you. When I upgraded my M200 to a 2Ghz Dothan, I used MBM5 to watch the CPU temps, and everytime it went up, the fan kicked in hard and brought it back down again. The unit is still kicking along fine 2 years after the upgrade (3.5 years after purchase).
Anyway, you could try SpeedFan (http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php) and see if that helps...
Hi
Yes, the fan comes on so seldom, I wondered whether it was faulty. I tried SpeedFan but it looks a bit complicated, I did get it to make the fan come on 100% at least until I suspended. It also crashed a couple of times, so I'm not sure it likes Vista.
What I really want is a real small utility that just turns the fan on or off when I run it, like the old Tosh utility.
