I recently was able to pick up two more TC1100 at a used computer store. I have noticed that on one when you right click on My Computer icon and go to properties I have the following on Tablet "A"

<div align="right">Intel(R) Pentium(R)M
processor 1.00 GHz
996 MHz, 512 MB of RAM </div id="right">

while Tablet "B" shows the following

<div align="right">Intel(R) Pentium(R)M
processor 1000 MHz
448 MHz, 1.00 GB of RAM </div id="right">

Why does Tablet "B" show a 448 MHz speed while Tablet "A" shows a 996 MHz speed. Is there an internal setting or something in the setup that I can change?

PR.

The machines use something called speedstep, they usually run at the slower 448mhz speed and it's only when under heavy load that it increases to the full 1Ghz

Try putting the machine under load such as finding all files ending in .tmp and then try again, you should find it shows the full speed. I believe setting the power option to "Always on" also disables speedstep but obviously reduces battery life.

Hope that helps
