anybody know something about the new HP Pavilion tx1030la ?
is that model a TabletPC or it is just a orinay laptop ?

its a laptop with a touch resistive screen. you could write on it, but it isn't pressure sensitive.I was looking at getting that one too hah.

I now have a tx1020ea (1.6GHz 1GB RAM) the 2GHz model is nowhere to be found where I live (but if I read the maintenance manual correctly you should be able to upgrade the CPU).

I am impressed actually with the speed: Vista CPU index is 4.6

But yes, this touchscreen is not for writing on, its very resistive to moving but I think it does make it better for finger(nail) pointing as they do not 'slip' that easily.
Installing the latest HP nVidia drivers did bring down the graphics performance a bit (from 3.1 to 2.9) but this might have to do with default settings also.
Playing a 1080p x264 video actualy seems to work.
I will upgrade to 2GB because I also need it to run some Virtual machines at times, but the 1GB doesn't slow it down it looks like.
