I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop - tablet model that will not power up. There is no power to the laptop, no beeps, no attempt at post, etc. nothing... I have tried all the usual tricks, ac adapter only, battery only, no ac adaptor or battery for a while, holding the power button down for a while, removing the memory, resetting the memory.

When the AC adapter is in, the led light for the power is green. When the AC adapter AND battery is in, the power led and battery led are both green. However, with the battery alone, there are no led lights.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated since the laptop is no longer under warranty. Does anyone know where I can obtain a service manual..

Thanks,

Those light combinations are exactly as they should be.

With those symptoms, it could be as simple as a broken power switch (everything is ok, but not getting the signal to turn on) or as complex as a busted mainboard. Although I'm thinking the mainboard is ok, as the lights to let you know the charge state are connected to the mainboard, and they are behaving normally.

Does the power switch seem loose or anything?

Welcome to the club. My R-15 bit the dust a couple of months ago after exhibiting similar symptoms. If you are lucky, you can get another AC cord and power your laptop that way.

I suspect that it is the same as mine, however, which is a bad power switch. Computer shops won't touch it. I'm just biding time until I can buy a new tablet.
